Asha Companies is the latest real estate development and management company launched by Jay Patel. The company was established to develop first class experience focused mixed use centers that look beyond the currently successful “Town Center” models via its subsidiary Asha Development and to develop first in class hotels in certain high-barrier-to-entry U.S. markets via its subsidiary Asha Hotels.

Asha Companies is pursuing locations in the most attractive real estate investment markets across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern United States. Although only in business since early 2006, Asha Companies has already received accolades and blessings from Intercontinental Hotels Group and is their largest Hotel Indigo Franchisee. Asha Companies also is a member of Starwood Hotels' Development Board of Advisors. Since inception, Asha Companies has committed to mixed use and hotel development investments in excess of $1.5 Billion.

"Asha" comes from the Sanskrit root meaning “the inherent nature of existence” and from the Hindu root meaning “hope”.
