Jay Patel, (Chief Executive Officer – Chief Financial Officer)
Jay Patel is the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial
Officer of The Asha Companies.
The Asha Companies is the parent company of Asha Hotels, Asha
Development and Asha Capital.
Jay Patel has been in the business of hospitality and hospitality
development since 1982. Mr. Patel’s family started developing
hotels and restaurants in the Midwest during the early oil boom
era of the late 1970’s and early 1980’s.
Over the last decade, Mr. Patel has started up numerous private
companies, general partnerships, limited liability companies
and limited partnerships in the Midwest and throughout the East
Coast. Mr. Patel has held positions such as General Manager,
CEO/CFO, President, and Vice President of Corporate Finance during the past 12 years. Mr. Patel has been
the key ingredient of converting a small family business to
a company that has developed and is developing projects that
vary in size from $4 million to $265 million.
Mr. Patel still heads multiple companies in the core business
of Hospitality Development and Specialty Hospitality Capital.
Mr. Patel has extensive experience in raising capital, structuring
capital to debt and equity raises, initial public offerings,
workings and legalities of the Securities and Exchange Commission,
conventional funding including non-recourse debt, SBA loans,
and raising capital through local and State bond issues from
local municipalities, counties and various States.
Mr. Patel’s experience has not only been with developing
hotels and restaurants, but also a tremendous amount of experience
working hand-in-hand with local and federal governments with
community development (betterment), tax and bond issues, tax
abatement and community service. Mr. Patel has an impressive
core of professional firms in the hospitality business from
architects, specialized attorneys, appraisers, contractors and
lending institutions as well as the upscale franchisors (such
as Hilton Hotels, Starwood Hotels, Intercontinental, Hyatt,
Wyndham and Marriott among many others).
Mr. Patel also has extensive experience working with the Army
Core of Engineers on marina resort development projects.
